Kamchatka: Horseback Trail
Route № 23. Horseback Trail to Ichinskiy Volcano (Circular Itinerary)
Best touring time: July 10 to September 15
This trip need request.
The trail is addressed to a tourist with average physical skills, with some experience in horseback riding and trekking. Before starting out, you will be briefed on horse riding techniques and the terrain.
Specially trained and tamed horses are used on the trail. You will spend nights in tents on the camping ground.
Horses are valued high,
And people want to stay nigh.
As long as you’re in the saddle
Things cannot go awry.
This trail is going to make your dream come true, if once you wanted to be a wayfarer and forerunner. On the horseback, you are going to visit beautiful wild places of Kamchatka: passing over mountain ridges to discover staggering vistas over vales hidden between mountainsides, grand waterfalls, crystal-clear rivers teeming with spawning salmon. Not a sound of the civilization, unique sceneries of nature, and the rhythm of your horse’s steps – find for yourself the Kamchatka that words fail to describe. Everyone discovers it in their own way: some are appealed by the emerald-colored hill slopes and volcano, others are thrilled to see a fox hiding in the bush or to observe a brown bear in his natural habitat, and some enjoy the unforgettable view of the Ichinskiy Volcano looming above everything as a sparkling white crown against the clear sky.
With the Volcano as the background, there is your horse at rest and grazing, it tosses its mane, looks up and watches you with his intelligent black eyes. And in the morning, you're back in the saddle again, with unexplored plains surrounding you, inviting to enjoy the silver dew of the dawn as you feel the warm back of your mount…
